Allow loss

By default, individual calls are allowed to incur a financial loss.  That is, the selling rate for a call can be lower than the buy rate from a carrier.  Tick this box to block calls where a financial loss would occur.  The default setting for new account can be changed by contacting support@dualsoftswitch.com with your requirements.  This setting is overridden by the Allow Loss setting in a tariff, and this is in turn overridden by the Allow Loss setting under an account's Special Rates and Routes.

Suspended

If this box is ticked, the account will become suspended and no further calls will be allowed, regardless of the account's available funds.

Credit limit

Optionally, enter a credit limit for the customer.  This will enable immediate calling on the account up to the limit set without processing a payment from the customer.  If a credit limit is not set, then calling will not be enabled until you record a payment.

Rating steps

These are the rating steps used to calculate call costs on this account.  The first number refers to the minimum charged duration, and the second number refers to the incremental charging steps after the minimum duration has been reached.  The steps offered in the drop down list  can be changed by contacting support@dualsoftswitch.com with your requirements.

Grace period

Calls that are shorter than this duration will incur no charge to the caller.

Connection charge

This charge is added to each call after its cost has been calculated, unless the call is shorter than the grace period.

Minimum charge

This is the minimum charge for any call, except those calls that are shorter than the grace period.

Call shop

If this box is ticked, then the account holder will have access to the online Call Shop Billing System.

Access details

This section allows you to change the way in which the account can authenticate with DUAL Softswitch:

Dynamic IP

Ticking this box will allow the account to authenticate from any IP address.  If this box is not ticked, then you must specify at least one fixed IP address for the account.

Maximum calls

The maximum number of concurrent calls allowed on this account.  Leave this field blank to allow unlimited calls.

Maximum duration

The maximum duration allowed for a call.

Maximum cost

The maximum cost allowed for a call. After this has been reached, calls will disconnect.

Committed digits

If you would like to restrict this account to only calling certain dial codes, then you can specify those dial codes in this box.  Each dial code should be separated by a comma.  For example, to limit this account to calling the UK and Germany only, enter "44,49".

When you have completed the form, press the Continue button to apply your changes to the account.

Fixed IP addresses

This section shows the IP addresses currently assigned as fixed IP address on this account.  An IP address can be removed by pressing the Remove this IP address button.

Dynamic IP addresses

This section shows the IP addresses that have been added to the account through registration.  These are normally H.323 devices registering to DUAL Softswitch's gatekeeper service on ports 1719 and 9719.  SIP devices registering to port 6060 will also be displayed in this list.

All IP addresses in this list will be authenticated into this account for thirty minutes from their last registration.  No further authentication challenge will be made when a call arrives.

SIP Proxy activity

This shows the last IP address and port to use the SIP service on port 5060 or 7060.  Click here for more information on the ports available to customers.

Add an IP address

You can use this form to add a fixed IP address to an account.  H.323 devices at these IP addresses can send calls to DUAL Softswitch's gateway service on ports 1720 and 9270.  SIP devices must use the non-standard SIP port 6060.  Calls arriving at other ports (5060 and 7060) will not be checked against this list and will be challenged for authentication.

IP address

Enter the IP address to be added to this account.  DNS names are not acceptable.

Technical prefix

Optionally, you can specify a technical prefix for this IP address.  This should be sent by the calling device as the called number, before the actual telephone number required.  This feature can be useful if more than one account operates from the same fixed IP address.

When you have completed the form, press the Continue button to apply your changes to the account.

Geographical options

These optional settings allow a customers to dial in the same way as they would from a landline line.  For example, they need not dial an international access code such as 00 or 011 for national calls.  If all three settings are blank, then the customer should dial in E.164 format.

International access

The international access code that this account will use (e.g. 00 or 011).

Country code

the country code for this account (eg. 44 for UK).

Area code

The area code for this account (eg. 020 for London).

When you have completed the form, press the Continue button to apply your changes to the account.

Signalling options

The following options can be changed for an account:

RTP Proxy

DUAL Softswitch offers an optional RTP Proxy service that may be required for NAT Penetration.  You will need to subscribe to the service before you can use it.  Select the rule that should be applied for this account in determined whether an RTP Proxy channel should be used.

Block G.711

Tick the box to block customers from using a G.711 codec.

Allow loop

If this box is checked, then calls will not be allowed where the routing results in the call being sent back to the originating IP address.

Flash protection

If this box is ticked, then every time a new call arrives on this account, a check is made to find any existing calls from the same Line ID.  If they exist, those calls will be disconnected.

Call gap

This setting can be used to limit the speed of call arrivals on an account.  If a call arrives on an account, then all further attempts will be rejected for the period specified in milliseconds.

It should be noted that call gapping is actually applied to originating IP addresses rather than at an account level, but the result is usually the same.  H.323 and SIP calls are subject to separate call gap timers, but both values are identical.

DUAL Softswitch has a master call gap to protect other customers from the performance degradation that could result from a sudden burst of traffic on your switch.  This is normally set to 50 ms, although bursting for two seconds is allowed.

When you have completed the form, press the Continue button to apply your changes to the account.

Calling Line Identity

CLI (Calling Line Identity) can be sent to carriers for each call and, subject to carriers' support for CLI, can be presented to the called party.  For CLI to be sent to a carrier, the feature must also be added to that carrier's settings.  DUAL Softswitch extracts a CLI from a call setup message in the following ways:

For H.323 calls, DUAL Softswitch looks for a number in the Calling Party Number Q.931 information element if the SETUP message.  If this information element is not present, an E.164 alias in the SourceAddress element of the H.225 SETUP message is sought.
For SIP calls, the user ID portion of the SIP address in the FROM header of an INVITE message is extracted and used as the CLI.

The following settings allow CLI to be enabled and manipulated on an account:

Enable CLI

Tick this box to enable CLI.  If this box is not ticked, then no CLI will be sent to a carrier, regardless of that carrier's setting.  The default setting for new accounts can be changed by contacting support@dualsoftswitch.com.

Forced CLI

If a number is entered into this box, then any CLI sent by this account will be ignored and will be replaced with this number.

Digits to strip

Enter the number of digits that should be removed from the start of the number after the CLI is extracted from a call setup message on this account.  The default is zero.

Digits to insert

Optionally, enter a digit string that should be added to the front of the extracted CLI before it is sent to a carrier.

When you have completed the form, press the Continue button to apply your changes to the account.
