DUAL Softswitch's switching capabilities are provided through a robust multi-protocol switching engine running on our servers in London. As a DUAL Softswitch customer, you will be in control of a partition on this switch running on a fixed IP address, dedicated to your use. This switching engine supports calls in and out of the switch using the H.323 and SIP protocols. It is designed to provide a completely consistent signalling experience between all types of endpoints, making it an ideal solution for many types of application.
DUAL Softswitch was built completely by Westbay Engineers Ltd. It contains no third party elements, which results in a thorough understanding of the system by our engineers. Even the H.323 and SIP protocol stacks were written in-house. It has been used for our own VoIP termination services since 2003 and has matured into a very robust and flexible tool.
The switching engine is controlled using an web based administration tool that is used to define customer accounts; define customer tariffs; control routing and report on calls and profitability. In the left sidebar, there is a box called Licence. If your softswitch has been activated, the following information is displayed in this box:
| 1. | The dedicated IP address of your VoIP switch |
| 2. | The date that your softswitch will expire |
| 3. | The maximum number of calls supported by your switch |
| 4. | The maximum number of RTP Proxy calls supported by your switch |
Your customers will benefit from two separate web based control panels to view their calling balance; call records and to assist them in managing their call shop operations.
